Apple Cinnamon Curly Fries are a fun and sweet twist on traditional fries, featuring crispy apple spirals coated in cinnamon sugar, fried to golden perfection, and served with caramel sauce for an irresistible treat.

Ingredients

3 medium or large baking apples (such as Granny Smith, Jonathan, Jonagold, Braeburn, or Honeycrisp)

½ cup all-purpose flour

1 cup granulated sugar

2 tablespoons ground cinnamon

Oil for frying

Caramel Sauce, for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. Fill a deep frying pan with at least 2 inches of oil. Heat it over medium heat to 350°F. Adjust the heat as needed to maintain this temperature.
  2. Peel and spiralize the apples using a spiralizer. Set the apple spirals aside.
  3. In a large bowl, dust the spiralized apples with flour, tossing gently to coat evenly.
  4. In a medium bowl, combine the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon for the coating. Set aside.
  5. Fry the apple spirals in batches for 2-3 minutes per batch, or until they are golden brown. Remove from oil using a spider strainer or slotted spoon.
  6. Immediately toss the fried apple curls in the cinnamon-sugar mixture until evenly coated.
  7. Serve the apple fries warm, optionally drizzling with caramel sauce for extra indulgence.

Notes

For extra crunch, sprinkle crushed nuts like pecans or walnuts on top of the coated apple fries.

If you prefer a spicy kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the cinnamon sugar mix.

For a lighter version, skip the flour coating, though the texture may differ.

Air frying is a great alternative to deep frying. Be sure to spray the apple spirals with oil before air frying for crispiness.
