Crispy, golden Apple Fries coated in cinnamon sugar and served with caramel or yogurt dipping sauce. A quick, sweet treat that combines the flavors of churros and apple pie for an irresistible dessert or snack.

Ingredients

3 large apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), peeled and cut into fry-sized strips

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/4 cup cornstarch

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 cup milk

Vegetable oil, for frying

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

Optional dipping sauce: caramel or vanilla yogurt

Instructions

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet or Dutch oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a plate with paper towels.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, cornstarch, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Gradually whisk in milk until a smooth batter forms.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix granulated sugar and cinnamon; set aside for coating.
  5. Pat apple strips dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
  6. Dip each apple strip into the batter, allowing excess to drip off.
  7. Fry the apples in small batches for 2–3 minutes, turning once, until golden brown and crisp.
  8. Transfer fried apples to the paper towel-lined plate to drain briefly.
  9. While still warm, toss the apple fries in the cinnamon sugar mixture until evenly coated.
  10. Serve immediately with caramel or vanilla yogurt dipping sauce.

Notes

Use Granny Smith apples for tartness or Honeycrisp for a sweeter flavor.

Air fry at 375°F (190°C) for about 10 minutes as a lighter alternative.

Try apple pie spice instead of cinnamon for extra warmth.

Double-dip the apples in batter for added crunch.

Serve with caramel, chocolate, or cream cheese dip for variety.
