These Banana Cinnamon Dumplings with Choc Nutella Sauce are a decadent dessert featuring crispy fried wontons filled with warm, spiced banana and topped with a luscious chocolate Nutella sauce. Quick to make and utterly indulgent, they’re perfect for entertaining or a cozy night in.

Ingredients

2 tbsp White sugar

1/2 tsp Ground cinnamon

1 Medium banana, cut into 1 cm pieces

16 Wonton wrappers

1 Egg, lightly beaten

Vegetable oil, for deep-frying

For the Choc Nutella Sauce:

100 g Dark chocolate, roughly chopped

2 tbsp Nutella

1/4 cup Pure cream

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix the sugar and cinnamon together. Set aside 1 teaspoon of the mixture and use it to coat the chopped banana pieces.
  2. Working with four wonton wrappers at a time, place a heaped teaspoon of the banana mixture in the center of each wrapper. Brush the edges with beaten egg and fold diagonally to form a triangle, pressing firmly to seal. Bring the two opposite corners together, dab with egg, and pinch to secure.
  3. Heat about 5 cm of vegetable oil in a wok or deep pan to 180°C. Fry the dumplings in batches for 1 minute per side or until golden brown. Transfer to a paper towel-lined tray and toss in the remaining cinnamon sugar while still warm.
  4. For the Choc Nutella Sauce, combine dark chocolate, Nutella, and cream in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on HIGH for 1 minute, stirring halfway through, until melted and smooth.
  5. Drizzle the warm chocolate sauce over the dumplings and serve immediately.

Notes

Use strawberries or cooked apple instead of banana for variety.

Sprinkle crushed nuts or icing sugar on top before serving for extra texture.

Air fry at 180°C for 8–10 minutes for a lighter option.

White or milk chocolate can replace dark chocolate for a sweeter sauce.

Serve with vanilla ice cream for an indulgent finish.
