This Berry Medley Jam is a sweet and tangy spread made with fresh strawberries, cranberries, and raspberries. The addition of vanilla and cinnamon brings warmth and depth, making it a perfect treat for spreading on toast, pairing with desserts, or enjoying by the spoonful.

Ingredients

1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and quartered

1 cup fresh cranberries

1 cup fresh raspberries

1 ½ cups granulated sugar

½ cup water

1 tsp lemon juice (freshly squeezed)

½ tsp vanilla extract (optional)

¼ tsp ground cinnamon (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Berries: Rinse the berries, hull and quarter the strawberries. Add them to a saucepan with cranberries and raspberries.
  2. Combine Ingredients: Add sugar, water, and lemon juice to the saucepan. Stir gently until sugar starts dissolving.
  3. Cook the Jam: Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, then reduce to simmer for 20-25 minutes, mashing the berries slightly for texture.
  4. Add Final Flavor Touches: Stir in vanilla extract and cinnamon (if using). Simmer for an additional 5 minutes.
  5. Jar and Store: Ladle jam into sterilized jars, seal tightly, and allow to cool before refrigerating. The jam lasts up to 2 weeks in the fridge.

Notes

Texture: Mash the berries to your preferred consistency, leaving some chunks for texture.

Storage: Store in the fridge for up to 2 weeks or follow canning procedures for longer shelf life.

Pectin: No added pectin needed; natural pectin from the fruit will help the jam set.

Canning Option: Follow proper canning procedures to preserve the jam for several months.
