Christmas Cranberry Orange Cookies are soft, chewy cookies that combine tart cranberries with bright orange flavors. Finished with a simple orange glaze, they’re festive for holiday cookie trays but easy enough for everyday baking.

Ingredients

1 cup butter, softened

1 cup sugar

1/2 cup brown sugar

1 egg

2 tablespoons orange juice

1 teaspoon orange zest

2 1/2 cups flour

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

2 cups dried cranberries

1 1/2 cups powdered sugar

3 tablespoons orange juice

1/2 teaspoon orange zest

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream butter, sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in egg, orange juice, and orange zest.
  4. Whisk flour, salt, and baking soda in a separate bowl; gradually add to wet mixture.
  5. Fold in dried cranberries.
  6. Drop tablespoonfuls of dough onto prepared cookie sheets.
  7. Bake 8–10 minutes until edges are lightly golden. Cool 2 minutes on sheets, then transfer to racks.
  8. For glaze, mix powdered sugar, orange juice, and zest until smooth. Drizzle over cooled cookies.
  9. Let glaze harden before serving or storing.
