A rich and creamy blue cheese sauce with a tangy kick, perfect for steaks, wings, burgers, or even vegetables. It can be made chunky or smooth, and it’s incredibly versatile and easy to prepare.

Ingredients

85g blue cheese, crumbled, plus extra for garnish

45ml buttermilk

30g sour cream

1 garlic clove, minced

5ml lemon juice

2.5ml Worcestershire sauce

1.25ml freshly ground black pepper

1.25ml ground mustard powder

1.25ml kosher salt

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the buttermilk, sour cream, garlic, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, pepper, mustard powder, and salt.
  2. Gently fold in the crumbled blue cheese, mashing some of the cheese while leaving some chunks intact for texture. If you prefer a smooth sauce, feel free to blend the mixture.
  3. Chill the sauce in the fridge for at least 30 minutes before serving.
  4. Before serving, garnish with extra blue cheese crumbles.
  5. Enjoy with steak, wings, vegetables, or burgers!

Notes

For a smoother sauce, use a food processor to blend the ingredients to a silky consistency.

If you want the sauce thinner, add more buttermilk to reach your desired consistency.

If storing leftovers, keep the sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days.

For a spicier kick, add a dash of hot sauce or cayenne pepper.
