Blue Cheese Walnut Thyme Puff Pastry Twirls are a savory, flaky appetizer featuring the rich flavors of blue cheese, crunchy walnuts, and aromatic fresh thyme. These elegant and easy-to-make twists are perfect for entertaining, serving as a snack, or as a delicious side dish.
2 sheets of puff pastry (square shaped)
2 tbsp honey
100g blue cheese, crumbled
100g grated Parmesan cheese
50g walnuts, chopped
6–8 sprigs of fresh thyme leaves
1 tbsp milk
Sea salt and cracked pepper
Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). If using a non-fan forced oven, increase the temperature to 200°C (390°F).
Drizzle honey evenly over each sheet of puff pastry.
Sprinkle chopped walnuts, crumbled blue cheese, grated Parmesan, and fresh thyme leaves over the pastry. Season with sea salt and cracked pepper.
Roll each sheet of pastry tightly and cut it in half lengthwise. Twist each piece into a coil and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Brush the pastry coils with milk and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden and puffed.
Once baked, sprinkle with extra thyme leaves and serve warm.
Variations:
Use goat cheese or feta for a milder flavor instead of blue cheese.
For a nut-free option, replace walnuts with sunflower seeds or pumpkin seeds.
Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days.
Reheating: Reheat in a 350°F oven for 5-10 minutes to keep the pastry crisp.
