Cabbage and Ground Beef Patties combine seasoned ground beef and finely shredded cabbage to create a hearty, flavorful meal. With crispy edges and a juicy, tender center, these patties are quick, easy, and perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

1 small head green cabbage, finely shredded

1 lb ground beef (80/20 for best flavor)

1 small onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

2 large eggs

1/2 cup breadcrumbs (or almond flour for low-carb option)

1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped

Salt and black pepper to taste

1/2 tsp paprika

1/4 tsp chili flakes (optional)

1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

2 tbsp olive oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix the finely shredded cabbage with 1/2 tsp salt. Let it sit for 10 minutes, then squeeze out the excess moisture.
  2. In the same bowl, add ground beef, chopped onion, minced garlic, eggs, breadcrumbs, parsley, paprika, chili flakes, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  3. Form the mixture into 8-10 patties depending on your preferred size.
  4. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook patties for 4-5 minutes on each side, until golden brown and cooked through.
  5. Drain patties on paper towels. Serve hot with sour cream or a dipping sauce of your choice.

Notes

For a low-carb option, substitute breadcrumbs with almond flour.

For a spicier version, add more chili flakes or hot sauce to the mixture.

You can prepare the patties ahead of time and refrigerate them for up to 24 hours.

These patties freeze well. Freeze before cooking and thaw in the refrigerator before frying.
