Chantilly Cake is a light, airy, and indulgent dessert featuring a soft cake base topped with whipped cream and fresh fruits, perfect for any special occasion.

Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 ½ cups granulated sugar

½ cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup whole milk

3 large eggs

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

1 tablespoon baking powder

¼ teaspoon salt

1 ½ cups heavy cream

½ cup powdered sugar (for whipped cream)

Fresh fruits (strawberries, blueberries, or raspberries) for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-5 minutes with a mixer.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir well to combine.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk. Start and end with dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Divide the batter evenly between the two prepared cake pans. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Once baked, remove from the oven and allow the cakes to cool in the pans for about 10 minutes. Then, transfer them to wire racks to cool completely.
  8. In a large mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form. Gradually add the powdered sugar and continue whipping until stiff peaks form.
  9. Once the cakes are cooled, place one layer on a serving platter. Spread a generous amount of whipped cream on top.
  10. Place the second layer of cake on top of the whipped cream. Cover the entire cake with the remaining whipped cream.
  11. Garnish with fresh fruits like strawberries, blueberries, or raspberries on top or around the edges as desired.

Notes

**Add Fruit Layers**: Layer fresh strawberries or blueberries between the cake layers for extra flavor.

**Lemon Chantilly Cake**: Add lemon zest to the batter for a citrusy twist.

**Chocolate Chantilly Cake**: Add cocoa powder to the batter for a chocolate version, and top with chocolate ganache or whipped chocolate cream.
