Homemade Cheeseburger Macaroni is the ultimate comfort food made from scratch. This quick and easy one-pan meal combines ground meat, savory spices, milk, and pasta, all topped with gooey cheddar cheese. It’s the perfect homemade alternative to boxed Hamburger Helper!

Ingredients

1 lb ground beef, turkey, or chicken

1 tbsp cornstarch

2 tsp paprika

1 tsp onion powder

1 tsp garlic powder

Salt and pepper to taste

1 tsp sugar

1 cup hot water

2 cups milk

1 ½ cups macaroni

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Cook the Ground Meat:

    • In a deep pan or pot, brown the ground meat (beef, turkey, or chicken). Once cooked, drain any excess fat and return the meat to the pan.

  2. Add the Spices:

    • To the browned meat, add paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and sugar. Stir to combine.

  3. Add the Liquids and Pasta:

    • Pour in the hot water, milk, and macaroni. Bring the mixture to a boil.

  4. Simmer:

    • Reduce the heat to low and simmer until the pasta is cooked, stirring occasionally.

  5. Cheese it Up:

    • Once the pasta is tender, add the shredded cheddar cheese and stir until the cheese is fully melted and the sauce is creamy.

  6. Serve:

    • Let the dish sit for a few minutes to thicken, then serve and enjoy!
