A creamy, light, no-bake cherry mousse made with cherry gelatin, cream cheese, and whipped topping for a refreshing and nostalgic dessert.

Ingredients

1 package cherry Jello (4-serving size)

1/2 cup boiling water

1 cup fresh cherries, chopped

1/2 cup cream cheese, softened

1/2 cup cold water

1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup Cool Whip

Cool Whip and/or maraschino cherries for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Add the cherry Jello to a small bowl and pour the boiling water over it. Stir until fully dissolved.
  2. In a blender, combine the chopped cherries, softened cream cheese, cold water, and vanilla extract.
  3. Pour in the dissolved Jello mixture and blend until completely smooth.
  4. Transfer the mixture to a large bowl and gently whisk in the Cool Whip until smooth and fully incorporated.
  5. Spoon the mousse into individual dessert dishes.
  6. Refrigerate for about 2 hours, or until fully set.
  7. Garnish with additional Cool Whip and maraschino cherries before serving, if desired.

Notes

This is a no-bake dessert that must be served chilled.

Frozen cherries can be used if thawed and well drained.

Make sure the Jello is fully dissolved to ensure proper setting.

Best prepared ahead for optimal texture.
