These Cherry Rice Krispie Treats with Dark Chocolate Drizzle combine a chewy marshmallow cereal base with tart dried cherries and a rich chocolate finish. The result is a quick, nostalgic dessert with balanced sweetness and texture.

Ingredients

3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

1 package marshmallows (10 oz)

6 cups Rice Krispies cereal

1 cup dried cherries, chopped

1/2 cup dark chocolate chips

1 teaspoon coconut oil (optional)

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in a large saucepan over low heat.
  2. Add the marshmallows and stir continuously until completely melted and smooth.
  3. Remove the saucepan from heat and quickly stir in the Rice Krispies cereal and chopped dried cherries until evenly coated.
  4. Press the mixture firmly into a greased 9×9 inch baking pan using a spatula or lightly greased hands.
  5. Place the dark chocolate chips and coconut oil in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each interval, until the chocolate is fully melted and smooth.
  6. Drizzle the melted chocolate over the cooled Rice Krispie treats.
  7. Allow the chocolate to set, then cut into squares and serve.

Notes

Add chopped almonds or pistachios for extra crunch.

Milk or white chocolate can replace dark chocolate for a sweeter drizzle.

Mini chocolate chips can be mixed into the cereal mixture for extra chocolate flavor.

A small amount of orange zest pairs nicely with the cherries for a citrus twist.

Store treats in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
