Chocolate Turtle Cobbler is a decadent, one-pan dessert featuring a fudgy chocolate cake, gooey caramel sauce, and crunchy pecans. It’s perfect for chocolate lovers and can be served with ice cream for the ultimate indulgence.

Ingredients

1 cup flour

2 teaspoons baking powder

½ teaspoon salt

⅔ cup sugar

3 tablespoons cocoa powder

2 tablespoons butter, melted

½ cup milk

½ cup chopped pecans

**For the Topping**

¼ cup sugar

⅓ cup brown sugar

1 tablespoon cocoa powder

¾ cup boiling water

½ cup jarred caramel sauce (divided)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, and cocoa powder. Stir in the melted butter, milk, and chopped pecans.
  3. Spread the batter into a greased 1.5-quart casserole dish and set aside.
  4. In a separate bowl, stir together the sugar, brown sugar, and cocoa powder. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the batter.
  5. Stir ¼ cup of caramel sauce into the boiling water. Pour the caramel mixture over the topping—do not stir.
  6. Bake for 30 minutes or until the top of the cobbler is almost set (it will still be a little jiggly as the bottom will be runny). The cake will rise to the top, and a fudgy pudding will form underneath.
  7. Drizzle the remaining caramel sauce on top of the cobbler, and if desired, sprinkle with additional pecans.
  8. Serve warm with a scoop of ice cream or whipped topping.

Notes

Substitute pecans with walnuts or any other nut of your choice for a different texture and flavor.

Add chocolate chips into the batter for an extra gooey chocolate experience.

Top with whipped cream, vanilla ice cream, or a drizzle of extra caramel for an indulgent treat.
