14 whole graham cracker sheets
2 cups creamy peanut butter
8 tablespoons butter, softened
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
½ teaspoon salt
3½ cups powdered sugar
4 tablespoons shortening
4 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
Prepare the crust: Place graham crackers in a food processor and pulse until finely crushed. Alternatively, place them in a plastic bag and crush with a rolling pin.
Make the filling: In a bowl, mix together the peanut butter, softened butter, vanilla extract, and salt. Gradually add powdered sugar, mixing until smooth.
Assemble: Press the graham cracker crumbs into the bottom of a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Spread the peanut butter mixture evenly over the graham cracker crust.
Make the chocolate topping: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips and shortening together in intervals of 20-30 seconds, stirring in between.
Top the bars: Pour the melted chocolate over the peanut butter layer and smooth it out with a spatula.
Chill: Refrigerate for at least 1 hour or until the chocolate hardens.
Serve: Once chilled, cut into squares and enjoy!
Chocolate Type: You can swap semi-sweet chocolate chips for milk or dark chocolate depending on your preference.
Crunchy Peanut Butter: For added texture, use crunchy peanut butter instead of creamy.
Nutty Toppings: Add chopped peanuts, almonds, or other nuts on top of the chocolate for an extra crunch.
