Ingredients

  • ¾ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup pastel M&Ms
  • ¼ cup pastel sprinkles

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch cake pan or line it with parchment paper.
  • Cream the butter and sugar in a large bowl until light and fluffy.
  • Add the egg, vanilla extract, baking soda, salt, and cream of tartar. Mix until well combined.
  • Gradually add the flour and mix until a dough forms.
  • Fold in the M&Ms and sprinkles.
  • Press the dough into the prepared cake pan, spreading it evenly.
  • Bake for 19-25 minutes, until the edges are lightly golden and the center is set. Let it cool completely.
  • Once cooled, you can add frosting or leave it plain. If frosting, spread a simple buttercream over the top and add extra sprinkles.

Notes

  • Feel free to use chocolate chips or other colorful candies instead of M&Ms.
  • For an extra flavor boost, add ½ teaspoon of almond extract to the dough.
  • Top with chocolate frosting for a rich contrast to the cookie base.
