Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 cup milk (whole, 2%, or almond milk)
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions

1. Prepare the Batter:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and sugar.
  2. Add milk, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract (if using) to the dry ingredients.
  3. Stir until just combined—a slightly lumpy batter is okay.

2. Cook the Pancakes:

  1. Heat a nonstick skillet or griddle over medium heat. If needed, lightly grease with butter or oil.
  2. Pour ⅓ cup of batter onto the skillet for each pancake.
  3. Cook until bubbles form on the surface and edges look set (about 2-3 minutes).
  4. Flip and cook for another 1-2 minutes, until golden brown.
  5. Repeat with the remaining batter.

3. Serve and Enjoy:

  1. Keep pancakes warm under a towel while cooking the rest.
  2. Serve with butter, maple syrup, and fresh fruits for the perfect breakfast!

Notes

  • Fluffiest Pancakes: Use fresh baking powder and don’t overmix the batter.
  • Thicker Pancakes: Reduce the milk slightly for a thicker batter.
  • Make-Ahead: Prepare the dry ingredients in advance for a quick morning mix.
