This Easy Stromboli Dinner Recipe is a savory, cheesy delight with mozzarella, pepperoni, bell peppers, and onions wrapped in flaky pizza dough. Perfect for a quick weeknight dinner or party appetizer, it’s ready in just 35 minutes!

Ingredients

1 package (13.8 oz) refrigerated pizza dough

1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded

½ cup pepperoni slices (or ham, sausage, or your preferred meat)

¼ cup green bell pepper, thinly sliced

¼ cup onion, thinly sliced

1 tsp dried oregano

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tbsp olive oil

1 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese

1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Marinara sauce for dipping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  2. Unroll the pizza dough onto a floured surface and gently stretch it into a rectangle. Layer the mozzarella cheese, pepperoni slices, bell pepper, and onion in the center of the dough, leaving a border around the edges. Sprinkle with oregano and garlic powder for extra flavor.
  3. Carefully fold the sides of the dough over the filling, then roll it up tightly like a jelly roll. Place the stromboli seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Brush the top of the stromboli with the beaten egg and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Cut a few small slits in the top of the dough for steam to escape. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and the cheese is melted inside.
  5. Let the stromboli cool for a few minutes before slicing. Serve with marinara sauce for dipping if desired.

Notes

  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
  • Reheat in the oven at 375°F for 10-15 minutes for a crispy crust, or microwave for a softer crust.

For a vegetarian version, skip the meat and load up on extra veggies like mushrooms, spinach, or olives.

Freeze stromboli before baking for up to 3 months. Thaw overnight and bake as usual.
