Elegant baked pears stuffed with creamy blue cheese, toasted nuts, and honey, creating a beautiful balance of sweet, tangy, and savory flavors with minimal effort.

Ingredients

3 ripe but firm pears (Bosc or Anjou), halved and cored

4 oz blue cheese, crumbled

1/4 cup chopped toasted walnuts or pecans

1 tbsp honey, plus more for drizzling

1 tbsp fresh thyme leaves (optional)

Freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Wash and dry pears, slice in half lengthwise, and remove cores. Trim bottoms if needed so they sit flat.
  3. In a bowl, combine blue cheese, toasted nuts, honey, thyme, and black pepper.
  4. Gently mash and mix until combined but still textured.
  5. Divide the filling evenly among pear halves, pressing gently into the centers.
  6. Arrange pears on the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 15–20 minutes until pears are tender and filling is bubbly and lightly golden.
  8. Cool briefly, drizzle with additional honey, and serve warm.

Notes

Bosc and Anjou pears hold their shape best when baked.

Nuts can be omitted for a nut-free version.

Blue cheese can be blended with goat or cream cheese for a milder flavor.

Serve as an appetizer, side dish, or light dessert.
