Packed with bananas, peanut butter frosting, and a rich, moist cake, this indulgent treat is perfect for any Elvis fan or anyone craving a unique, delicious dessert. Easy to make, it’s a great choice for parties, birthdays, or simply a sweet treat any time of the year.

Ingredients

For the Cake:

  • 1 box yellow cake mix (or homemade banana cake if preferred)
  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1 cup crushed pineapple, drained
  • ½ cup chopped walnuts (optional)
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 3 eggs

For the Frosting:

  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • ½ cup butter (room temperature)
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • ¼ cup milk (or as needed for consistency)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour a 9×13-inch baking pan.
  • Prepare the Cake: In a large mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, mashed bananas, crushed pineapple, eggs, and vegetable oil. Stir until fully combined. Optionally, fold in the chopped walnuts for added texture.
  • Bake the Cake: Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let the cake cool completely before frosting.
  • Make the Frosting: While the cake cools, prepare the frosting by beating together the peanut butter and butter until smooth. Gradually add powdered sugar and vanilla, and continue mixing. Add milk, one tablespoon at a time, until the frosting reaches a spreadable consistency.
  • Frost the Cake: Once the cake is completely cool, spread the peanut butter frosting evenly on top.
  • Serve and Enjoy: Slice the cake into squares and enjoy the delicious combination of banana and peanut butter.

Notes

  • Feel free to add chocolate chips, shredded coconut, or other nuts to the cake for extra flavor and texture.
  • You can make this cake gluten-free by using a gluten-free yellow cake mix or a homemade gluten-free banana cake.
  • For a different texture, use crunchy peanut butter in the frosting.
  • This cake can be made ahead of time—just bake it a day or two in advance and frost it just before serving.
