Firecracker Crunch is a magical sweet-and-spicy roasted nut snack inspired by Weasleys’ Dragon Roasted Nuts. Featuring honey, warming spices, and a fiery kick, this crunchy treat is perfect for parties, gifting, or cozy nights.

Ingredients

16 oz (about 3 cups) mixed nuts (cashews, almonds, pecans, walnuts, peanuts – omit peanuts for Paleo)

1 large egg white

½ cup honey

1½ teaspoons kosher salt

1 teaspoon ground cumin

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

½ teaspoon chili powder

½ teaspoon red pepper flakes

½ teaspoon cayenne pepper (use ¼ teaspoon for milder mix)

¼ teaspoon cracked black pepper

¼ teaspoon ground ginger

¼ teaspoon ground cloves

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 250°F (120°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Whip egg white until frothy. Add nuts and toss to coat evenly.
  3. Add honey and all spices; mix well until nuts are evenly coated.
  4. Spread nuts evenly on prepared baking sheet.
  5. Roast 45–60 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes to prevent burning and ensure even cooking.
  6. Remove from oven; cool 10 minutes, then break into chunks.
  7. Store in airtight container up to 2 weeks.

Notes

Use raw, unsalted nuts for best flavor control.

Adjust cayenne and red pepper flakes to taste.

Swap honey for maple syrup for vegan version; omit egg white.

Experiment with nut and seed combinations.
