Fourth of July Chocolate-Dipped Pretzels are a fun, easy, and festive treat featuring star-shaped pretzels dipped in rich chocolate and decorated with vibrant red, white, and blue sprinkles. Perfect for 4th of July parties or any patriotic celebration, these pretzels are a sweet and salty snack that will impress your guests.

Ingredients

Star-shaped pretzels (or any pretzel shape you prefer)

12 oz milk chocolate chips (or substitute semi-sweet or dark chocolate if desired)

1 tablespoon coconut oil (optional, helps the chocolate melt smoother)

Red, white, and blue sprinkles

Parchment paper or wax paper

Toothpicks or a fork (for dipping)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Your Work Area: Lay a large sheet of parchment or wax paper on your countertop to use as a drying station for the dipped pretzels.
  2. Melt the Chocolate: Place the chocolate chips and coconut oil (if using) into a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring well after each interval, until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth. Alternatively, melt the chocolate using a double boiler on the stovetop.
  3. Dip the Pretzels: For fully dipped pretzels, use a fork to dip each pretzel into the melted chocolate, allowing the excess chocolate to drip off before placing it onto the prepared parchment paper. For partially dipped pretzels, dip only half of each pretzel to leave part of the golden pretzel exposed.
  4. Add Sprinkles: Immediately after dipping each pretzel, generously sprinkle red, white, and blue sprinkles over the wet chocolate to decorate. Be sure to do this while the chocolate is still soft to help the sprinkles stick.
  5. Let Them Set: Allow the dipped pretzels to sit at room temperature until the chocolate hardens. If you need to speed up the process, place the tray in the refrigerator for about 15 minutes until set.
  6. Serve and Enjoy! Once the chocolate has hardened, the pretzels are ready to serve. Keep them chilled until ready to enjoy.

Notes

Feel free to use any type of pretzel—mini twists, rods, or large pretzels—based on your preference.

These pretzels can be made ahead of time and stored in an airtight container until ready to serve.

If using candy melts instead of chocolate chips, you may not need coconut oil, but it can help achieve a smoother consistency.
