Garlic Bread Meatball Sandwiches combine savory meatballs, rich marinara sauce, and crispy garlic bread, creating a delicious and satisfying comfort food that’s perfect for any meal.

Ingredients

For the Meatballs:

1 lb ground beef or turkey

1/2 cup breadcrumbs

2 garlic cloves, minced

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 tsp Italian seasoning

Salt and pepper to taste

For the Sauce:

1 cup marinara sauce

For the Garlic Bread:

1 baguette or Italian bread, sliced lengthwise

1/4 cup softened butter

2 garlic cloves, minced

For Garnish (optional):

Fresh parsley, chopped

Extra Parmesan cheese, for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Meatballs: In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef (or turkey) with breadcrumbs, minced garlic, Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined—overmixing can make the meatballs tough. Shape the mixture into meatballs about 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter.
  2. Cook the Meatballs: Heat a skillet over medium heat and add a splash of olive oil. Brown the meatballs on all sides until they’re nicely seared. Transfer the meatballs to a baking dish and spoon marinara sauce over them. Bake the meatballs in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 15-20 minutes or until they’re fully cooked through and tender.
  3. Make the Garlic Bread: Slice the baguette lengthwise and set it on a baking sheet. Mix softened butter with minced garlic and spread generously on each side of the bread. Toast the bread in the oven (or on a skillet) until golden brown, crispy, and fragrant.
  4. Assemble the Sandwiches: Place a few meatballs with marinara sauce onto the toasted garlic bread. Optionally, garnish with fresh parsley and a sprinkle of extra Parmesan cheese. Close the sandwich and serve immediately while everything is warm and delicious.

Notes

Cheese Lover’s Version: Add melted mozzarella or provolone cheese over the meatballs before closing the sandwich for an extra cheesy version.

Vegetarian Option: For a vegetarian version, substitute meatballs with plant-based meatballs or a hearty veggie filling like roasted mushrooms.

Spicy Kick: Add red pepper flakes to the meatball mixture or a drizzle of hot sauce to the marinara for some added heat.

Baked Version: If you prefer a more oven-baked style, top the assembled sandwich with cheese and bake it for 5-10 minutes to melt the cheese and heat everything through.
