Ingredients

1 cup ricotta cheese

1 tablespoon fresh basil, finely chopped

1 tablespoon fresh oregano, finely chopped

1 teaspoon lemon zest

Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

4 slices rustic bread or sourdough, toasted

2 medium ripe tomatoes, thinly sliced

Extra virgin olive oil, for drizzling

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese, chopped basil, oregano, lemon zest, salt, and pepper. Mix well to create a creamy herbed ricotta spread.
  2. Toast the bread slices until golden and crisp.
