A bold and nostalgic hot cinnamon frosting with a smooth buttercream texture and spicy-sweet cinnamon candy flavor, perfect for decorating cookies, cupcakes, and other baked treats.

Ingredients

1 cup salted butter, room temperature

3 1/2 cups powdered sugar

1 tablespoon milk

1 to 1 1/2 teaspoons LorAnn cinnamon flavoring

Food coloring (optional)

Instructions

  1. Place the room-temperature butter in a large mixing bowl.
  2. Add the powdered sugar and milk, then beat together for several minutes until smooth and fluffy.
  3. Add 1 to 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon flavoring, adjusting to desired heat level.
  4. If using food coloring, add it and continue mixing until fully incorporated.
  5. Use immediately to frost cookies or desserts, or set aside until ready to use.

Notes

Start with less cinnamon flavoring and increase gradually for desired spice.

If frosting is too thick, add a small splash of milk and remix.

Unsalted butter may be used with a pinch of added salt.

Re-mix after chilling to restore a fluffy texture.
