Hot Honey Chicken Biscuits are a sweet, spicy, and savory Southern classic. Crispy fried chicken thighs are tucked inside fluffy buttermilk biscuits and topped with a rich, spicy-sweet drizzle of homemade hot honey. Perfect for brunch, lunch, or dinner.

Ingredients

4 boneless, skinless chicken thighs

1 cup buttermilk

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 tsp paprika

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

Vegetable oil for frying

4 buttermilk biscuits, split

1/2 cup honey

2 tbsp hot sauce

1 tbsp butter

Instructions

  1. Marinate chicken thighs in buttermilk for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight.
  2. In a shallow bowl, mix flour, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet to 350°F (177°C).
  4. Dredge the chicken in the seasoned flour, pressing to coat thoroughly.
  5. Fry chicken thighs for 6-8 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  6. In a small saucepan, combine honey, hot sauce, and butter. Heat until melted and blended.
  7. Assemble each biscuit sandwich by placing a fried chicken thigh between the biscuit halves.
  8. Drizzle with hot honey sauce just before serving.

Notes

Reduce hot sauce for a milder version.

Add cayenne to the flour or extra hot sauce for more heat.

Double dredge chicken for extra crunch.
