Loaded Cheesy Pocket Tacos are the perfect quick and easy meal for busy nights. These handheld tacos are filled with seasoned ground beef, creamy cheese, and zesty salsa, all wrapped in a crispy tortilla pocket. Ready in just 35 minutes, this fusion of Mexican and American flavors will satisfy your taste buds and make a hit at any casual gathering.

Ingredients

  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • ½ cup salsa
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 12 6-inch tortillas

Instructions

  • Cook the Ground Beef: Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain any excess grease.
  • Season the Beef: Add the taco seasoning to the beef and follow the packet instructions. Mix thoroughly.
  • Prepare the Cream Cheese Mixture: In a bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Add the salsa and blend until well combined.
  • Assemble the Tacos: Lay a tortilla flat, spread a portion of the cream cheese mixture in the center, add a spoonful of seasoned beef, and sprinkle with shredded Cheddar cheese. Fold the tortilla over the filling, burrito-style, to form a pocket.
  • Bake: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the filled tortillas on a baking tray and brush with melted butter. Bake for approximately 15 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.

Notes

  • You can use ground turkey or chicken for a lighter version.
  • For a spicier kick, add diced jalapeños or a drizzle of hot sauce inside the taco.
  • Feel free to swap the Cheddar cheese for any cheese you prefer, such as Monterey Jack or Mexican blend cheese.
