Ingredients

For the Dough:
  • 1 packet (2¼ teaspoons) active dry yeast
  • ¾ cup warm milk
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the Filling:
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
For the Cream Cheese Icing:
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1½ cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Prepare the Dough:
    • In a large bowl, mix warm milk and sugar. Stir in the yeast and let it sit for 5 minutes to activate.
    • Add melted butter, eggs, and vanilla. Stir in flour and salt to form a dough.
    • Knead on a lightly floured surface for 5–7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  • Prepare the Filling:
    • In a small bowl, mix softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon until smooth.
  • Assemble the Rolls:
    • Roll out dough into a 16×12-inch rectangle. Spread the cinnamon filling evenly.
    • Roll tightly from the long side and cut into 12 rolls.
  • Bake:
    • Place rolls in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
    • Bake at 350°F for 20–25 minutes until golden brown.
  • Make the Icing:
    • Beat together cream cheese, powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Frost and Serve:
    • Let rolls cool slightly before spreading icing on top. Serve warm.
