Ingredients

1 sheet puff pastry, thawed

1/2 cup strawberry or raspberry jam

1/2 cup cream cheese, softened

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 tablespoons powdered sugar

Pinch of salt

1/2 cup fresh blueberries

1 egg

1 tablespoon water

1 tablespoon coarse sugar or sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, mix cream cheese, vanilla extract, powdered sugar, and a pinch of salt until smooth.
  3. Roll out puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and cut into 8–12 rectangles.
  4. Place half of the rectangles on the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Spread a thin layer of cream cheese mixture on each, leaving a 1/2-inch border.
  6. Add a small spoonful of jam in one corner and a few blueberries in the opposite corner.
  7. Top with remaining pastry rectangles and press edges with a fork to seal.
  8. Whisk egg and water to create an egg wash and brush over the tops.
  9. Sprinkle with coarse sugar or sprinkles if desired.
  10. Bake for 15–20 minutes until golden brown and puffed.
  11. Cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Avoid overfilling to prevent bursting during baking.

Seal edges firmly with a fork for best results.

Store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Reheat in a 350°F oven for 3–5 minutes to restore crispness.

Good-quality store-bought puff pastry works perfectly.
