Prosecco Butter Poached Shrimp is an elegant and easy dish featuring succulent shrimp gently cooked in a buttery Prosecco sauce with garlic, shallots, and lemon, perfect for a sophisticated appetizer or main course.

Ingredients

1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined

1 cup Prosecco

½ cup unsalted butter

2 garlic cloves, minced

1 shallot, finely chopped

1 tablespoon lemon juice

¼ cup fresh parsley, chopped

Salt and pepper to taste

Lemon wedges for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Rinse shrimp and pat dry; season with salt and pepper.
  2. Melt butter in a medium skillet over medium heat until foaming.
  3. Add minced garlic and chopped shallot; sauté for about 2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Pour in Prosecco and bring to a gentle simmer.
  5. Add shrimp and cook 3–4 minutes until pink and opaque.
  6. Stir in lemon juice and half of the parsley.
  7. Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper if needed.
  8. Remove from heat and garnish with remaining parsley; serve with lemon wedges if desired.

Notes

Add red pepper flakes or hot sauce for heat.

Use fresh dill, basil, or tarragon as alternative herbs.

Substitute dry white wine if Prosecco is unavailable.

Serve over pasta, rice, or with crusty bread to enjoy the sauce.
