An easy slow cooker chocolate cherry dump cake made with cherry pie filling, rich chocolate cake mix, and buttery topping for a gooey, comforting dessert with minimal effort.

Ingredients

42 oz cherry pie filling (two 21-oz cans)

15.25 oz chocolate cake mix

1 cup salted butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Lightly grease or spray the inside of a 6-quart slow cooker with nonstick spray.
  2. Pour the cherry pie filling into the bottom of the slow cooker and spread evenly.
  3. In a medium bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix with the melted butter until just mixed.
  4. Drop spoonfuls of the cake mixture evenly over the cherry layer and gently spread.
  5. Cover with the lid and cook on high for 2 hours 45 minutes to 3 hours.
  6. Check that the top is set and no longer wet in the center.
  7. Serve warm, optionally with ice cream or whipped cream.

Notes

Do not stir the layers for best texture.

Serve warm for the best flavor.

Can be made with other pie fillings like berry or raspberry.

A 6-quart or larger slow cooker works best.
