Ingredients

2 cups boiling water

1 pinch baking soda

¾ cup white sugar

6 cups cold water

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, combine boiling water, baking soda, and tea bags. Let steep for 15 minutes.
  2. Remove the tea bags carefully.
  3. Stir in the sugar and 6 cups of cold water until the sugar is fully dissolved.
  4. Refrigerate the tea for at least 4 hours to chill and allow flavors to meld.
  5. Serve over ice and enjoy!

Notes

Add fresh lemon slices or mint leaves for a citrusy, aromatic twist.

Use brown sugar or honey for a different sweetness profile.

Make it herbal or caffeine-free by substituting black tea with rooibos or herbal tea.
