These Spooky & Cute Ghost Pop Tarts are a fun Halloween treat with a flaky, buttery crust, blueberry filling, and a ghostly glaze, perfect for any spooky celebration.

Ingredients

2 ½ cups (300 g) all-purpose flour

1 cup (225 g) vegan butter or margarine, cold

46 tablespoons (60–90 ml) ice water

½ cup (120 g) blueberry jam or preserves

1 cup (120 g) powdered sugar

23 tablespoons (30–45 ml) plant-based milk

Black decorating gel or melted dark chocolate (for ghost faces)

Gluten-free flour blend (for a GF version, optional)

Instructions

  1. Cut the cold vegan butter into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add ice water, one tablespoon at a time, until the dough comes together. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. Roll the chilled dough to about ⅛-inch thickness and cut out ghost shapes using a cookie cutter or template.
  4. Place half of the ghost-shaped dough on the prepared baking sheet. Spoon 1 tablespoon of blueberry jam onto each, leaving a border. Brush edges with water and place the remaining dough on top. Crimp edges to seal.
  5. Bake for 20–25 minutes until golden. Let cool completely on a wire rack.
  6. Mix powdered sugar with plant-based milk to create a glaze. Once the pop tarts are cooled, spread the glaze on top. Use black decorating gel or melted dark chocolate to create ghost faces.
  7. Serve and enjoy! Perfect for Halloween parties or spooky snacks.

Notes

For a gluten-free version, substitute gluten-free flour blend for all-purpose flour.

Try different fillings like raspberry jam or chocolate spread for variety.

Add Halloween sprinkles to the glaze for extra festive flair.

For smaller snacks, use a mini cookie cutter for mini ghost pop tarts.
