The Neiman Marcus Cookie is a legendary chewy, chocolate-packed treat with a rich, buttery flavor and the perfect balance of textures. Blended oats give it a tender bite, while a mix of milk and semisweet chocolates with crunchy pecans make every cookie irresistibly decadent.

Ingredients

1 cup butter, softened

1 cup granulated sugar

1 cup firmly packed light brown sugar

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

2 1/2 cups uncooked regular oats

1 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

4 ounces milk chocolate candy bar, coarsely chopped (about 1/2 cup)

1 cup chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Blend oats in a blender or food processor until fine, resembling flour.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth and well combined.
  5. Stir in the blended oats, flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until the dough forms.
  6. Fold in semisweet chocolate chips, chopped milk chocolate, and pecans.
  7. Roll dough into 1 to 1 1/2-inch balls and place 2 inches apart on prepared baking sheet.
  8. Bake for 8–10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. The centers should still look slightly soft.
  9. Cool on the baking sheet for 2–3 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Blending oats gives the cookies a chewy texture and unique flavor.

Add white chocolate chips, toffee bits, or dried cranberries for fun variations.

Use walnuts or almonds instead of pecans for a different nutty flavor.

For thicker cookies, chill dough for 30 minutes before baking.

Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days, or freeze for up to 2 months.
