This apple butter buttercream is fluffy, creamy, and full of warm apple cinnamon flavor. It comes together quickly with simple ingredients and is perfect for cupcakes, cakes, cookies, and other fall desserts.

Ingredients

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

3 cups powdered sugar

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/4 cup apple butter

Instructions

  1. Beat the softened butter on medium speed until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes.
  2. Add the powdered sugar, salt, and apple butter. Mix on low speed until fully combined.
  3. Increase the mixer speed to medium and beat for 2 to 5 minutes until the frosting becomes light, creamy, and fluffy.
  4. Adjust the consistency if needed by adding more apple butter for a softer texture or more powdered sugar for a thicker frosting.

Notes

Add a pinch of cinnamon for a warmer spiced flavor.

Mix in a splash of vanilla extract for a softer bakery-style taste.

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days or refrigerate for up to 1 week.

Freeze in a freezer-safe container for 3 to 4 months. Thaw and re-whip before using.

Great for piping onto cupcakes, cakes, cookies, and fall desserts.
