Ingredients

For the Brownie Layer:

1 box of brownie mix (or homemade brownies, baked and cooled)

1/4 cup chocolate chips (optional for extra chocolatey flavor)

For the Cookie Dough Filling:

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1 cup flour (heat-treated for safety)

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 tbsp milk (or as needed for desired consistency)

1/2 cup chocolate chips

1/4 cup chopped maraschino cherries (optional for Black Forest twist)

For the Chocolate Coating:

2 cups semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips, melted

Maraschino cherries for topping

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Brownie Layer:
    • Bake the brownies according to the package instructions, or use your favorite homemade brownie recipe. Let the brownies cool completely.
    • Once cooled, crumble the brownies into a coarse mixture.
  2. Make the Cookie Dough Filling:
    • Cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
    • Add the heat-treated flour, vanilla extract, and milk. Mix until you achieve a smooth, cookie-dough consistency.
    • Fold in the chocolate chips and chopped maraschino cherries.
  3. Assemble the Brownie Bombs:
    • Take a small amount of brownie crumbles and press it into a flat disk in your hand.
    • Place a spoonful of cookie dough in the center of the disk.
    • Wrap the brownie around the cookie dough to fully enclose it and gently roll it into a ball.
    • Repeat the process for each bomb.
  4. Coat in Chocolate:
    • Melt the chocolate chips and dip each brownie bomb into the melted chocolate, fully coating it.
    • Place the chocolate-covered brownie bombs on a parchment-lined tray to set.
  5. Add the Cherry Topping:
    • While the chocolate is still soft, press a maraschino cherry onto the top of each brownie bomb.
    • Allow the chocolate to set completely before serving.
  6. Serve and Enjoy:
    • Once the chocolate has set, your brownie bombs are ready to serve!

Notes

Use Heat-Treated Flour: Microwave the flour for a few seconds until it reaches 165°F to make it safe to eat.

Prevent Sticking: Chill the cookie dough balls before wrapping them in the brownie crumbles to make the process easier and prevent sticking.

Flavor Variations: Add cherry extract to the chocolate coating for extra Black Forest flavor or use dark chocolate for a less sweet version.
