Easy Pizza Casserole is a comforting, cheesy dish made with layers of biscuit dough, pepperoni, mozzarella, and pizza sauce. It’s quick to make, perfect for busy nights or a fun family dinner.

Ingredients

2 (1-lb) cans buttermilk biscuits

1 (7-oz) package pepperoni

34 cups mozzarella cheese, divided

2 (16-oz) jars pizza sauce, divided

1 tablespoon Italian seasoning, divided

3 tablespoons Parmesan cheese, grated

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a deep 9×13 inch casserole dish with nonstick spray.
  2. Prepare the biscuits: Open the first can of biscuits and cut them into sixths (cut each biscuit in half, then cut each half into 3). Layer them on the bottom of the casserole dish.
  3. Add the pepperoni: Cut half of the pepperoni slices into quarters and spread them over the top of the biscuits.
  4. Add mozzarella cheese: Sprinkle 1 and 1/2 cups of mozzarella cheese over the top of the pepperoni.
  5. Add pizza sauce: Spread 1 jar of pizza sauce over the top, then sprinkle with half a tablespoon of Italian seasoning.
  6. Add another layer: Open the second can of biscuits, cut them the same way, and layer them over the first biscuit layer. Add the remaining pepperoni (cut into quarters) and drizzle with the remaining pizza sauce. Sprinkle with the remaining Italian seasoning.
  7. Add cheese: Top with 1 to 2 cups of mozzarella cheese, depending on how cheesy you want it.
  8. Add Parmesan cheese: Grate 3-4 tablespoons of Parmesan cheese over the top.
  9. Cover and bake: Spray a sheet of foil with nonstick spray and cover the casserole. Bake at 350°F for about 60 minutes.
  10. Uncover and brown: After 60 minutes, uncover the casserole and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, until the top is golden brown and bubbly. Test with a toothpick to ensure the biscuits are cooked through.
  11. Serve: Serve the casserole hot, with extra pizza sauce on the side for dipping.

Notes

For a vegetarian version, omit the pepperoni and add your favorite pizza veggies like mushrooms, bell peppers, or olives.

For a spicier casserole, add sliced jalapeños or use spicy sausage instead of regular pepperoni.

This casserole can easily be made gluten-free by using gluten-free biscuits and ensuring the pizza sauce is gluten-free.
