Ingredients

2 cups crushed vanilla wafers or graham crackers

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

2 tablespoons sugar

1 (5 oz) box instant banana pudding mix

2 cups cold milk

1 cup heavy whipping cream

2 tablespoons powdered sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 ripe bananas, sliced

1 1/2 cups whipped topping or whipped cream

Maraschino cherries

Cherry syrup from the jar

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine crushed cookies, melted butter, and sugar until the mixture resembles wet sand. Press firmly into a lined 8×8 or 9×9-inch pan. Refrigerate while preparing the filling.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together banana pudding mix and cold milk until smooth. Let sit for 2–3 minutes to thicken.
  3. In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
  4. Gently fold the whipped cream into the pudding mixture until smooth and airy.
  5. Arrange sliced bananas evenly over the chilled crust.
  6. Spread the pudding mixture over the bananas and smooth the surface.
  7. Top with whipped topping and spread evenly.
  8. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  9. Slice into bars and garnish with maraschino cherries and a drizzle of cherry syrup before serving.

Notes

Chill overnight for best texture and clean slices.

Use ripe but firm bananas to prevent excess moisture.

Swap vanilla wafers with chocolate cookies for variation.

Add strawberries or blueberries for extra freshness.

Store covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Wipe the knife between cuts for neat slices.

Use dairy-free substitutes if needed.

Drizzle caramel or chocolate sauce instead of cherry syrup for a richer flavor.
